BIO
I am passionate about Graphic Arts because of its
unique combination of Illustration and Graphic Design;
the opportunity to create striking, and even unconventional images, and employing a myriad of techniques to add layers
and deeper meaning to the visuals. I am primarily interested in design for social impact, producing work that acts as a source of information, and can convey ideas to the audience; provoking thought and sparking wider discussions. I also have a keen eye for motion graphics, and am currently doing a Higher Diploma at The Nation Film and Title School. Here I am pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Motion Graphics and Titles.
My inspiration comes from my environment. I have always been fascinated by the sheer diversity of nature and society. My designs often aim to combine this ‘flora and fauna’ realism with abstract ideas and typography. Focusing on societal issues such as loneliness and communication, I have sought to challenge the audiences’ understanding, playing with the ‘norms’ and even evoking irony. My design projects are centred on changing human behaviour for the benefit of individuals and society. Whilst my designs employ abstract, typographical and graphical technique, my overall aim is still to have a design with meaning and significance. A design which the audience can still relate to, and even participate in.
